Rep. Munroe and other members of the Bucks County Democratic Committee House Delegation put together a petition urging PECO to withdraw its proposed rate increase before the Public Utility Commission. So a big deal is being made now of PECO withdrawing their latest request to the PUC for a rate increase – this one double digits. 💰But how long will it be before PECO and other electrical and water utilities make other requests given the proposed massive buildout of AI data centers? 📌 Instead of patting themselves on the back for stopping this attempt to gouge ratepayers , our governor and state legislators should be putting the brakes on data center development. 🔴 They should also do something about the way too cozy relationship between the PUC and the utilities they regulate, approving harmful rate increases despite huge profits. For example, up until the time he was appointed to the PUC, the current chair, Stephen Defrank was a registered lobbyist for PECO, PA American Water, EQT and other oil and gas corporations. These appointments to the PUC are made by the governor. It should not be okay to be choosing them from the very industries that they regulate. Where is the public in the PUC?

I am honored to have the full and proud support of the wonderful organizations below. I’ll add more as we’re ready to announce them, but my time in the PA House has shown you can count on me to stand up for the things that matter – from women’s rights to workers’ rights, access to quality education, a clean environment for our kids and grandkids, and beyond!
